Slider Chain Assemblies
Slider chain is X-458 or X-678 chain (4 in or 6 in pitch) built into strands, with plates bolted on at set stations and drop fingers that push the load along the line. It runs on the harvest and fabrication sides of beef and pork plants, and each strand is laid out to fit your line.

How an order works.
01
Send us your details.
An old drawing, a sample strand or photos of your line cover most of it. Starting fresh? Here is what we need:
Chain size. X-458 (4 in pitch) or X-678 (6 in pitch).
Strands. How long each strand is and how many you need.
Top plates. Style and how many per strand.
Bottom plates. Style and how many per strand.
Drop fingers. How many per strand and the spacing between them.
Direction of travel. Which way the chain runs on your line, so the drop fingers and plates face the right way.
Guide plates. If your layout uses them, and where they go.
02
We draw the strand.
The drawing shows the strand length, the plates, the drop fingers and the spacing between them, laid out from your details, not a stock design.
03
You sign off.
Check the drawing against your line. Every strand in the order is built to it.
04
We build and check it.
Strands are assembled in Grand Rapids, Michigan, then proof loaded and quality checked before they ship.
What goes on a strand.

Example only: one drop finger station on X-678 slider chain. Your plates, drop fingers and spacing follow your drawing.
Plates. Top and bottom plates bolt to the chain at each station. Guide plates are added when your layout calls for them.
Drop fingers. Hang below the chain and push the load along the line.
Hardware. Every bolt on the strand gets a lock nut.
